A Year In A Garden
The Quiet Gardener refers to me, I picture myself as an observer mainly. I do make changes to the garden but mostly I let it do what it feels is best.
The Quiet Gardener also acts as a metaphor for a Wild Garden.
Not Re-Wilding just Wild.
This year my focus is to create a body of work that explores The Ledge Garden. Starting in March 2024 this project will explore the constant shift and shuffle in our small woodland garden.
Initially my focus is on small scale mixed media paintings concentrating on colour and composition.
As the seasons unfold my palette will evolve to reflect the way the plants and landscape are changing. I also anticipate an evolution in terms of composition. As the form and structure of the garden grows I hope it will influence the dynamic of mark making.
I hope for an organic impact on my making meaning.
